As our church congregation and community come together
for the SAKLC Gala 2025, sponsored by the SAKLC Foundation, we take a moment to reflect on our journey at St. Armands Key Lutheran Church with deep gratitude. We are truly relieved that our church has fully recovered from the hurricanes, successfully managing the $2 million needed for repairs. This achievement is a testament to our resilience as a community. We’re also overjoyed to introduce our stunning new pipe organ and to welcome our new Outreach and Engagement Director, who brings fresh energy and vision to our mission.
The proceeds from this event play an integral role in funding scholarships for talented young organists, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their musical aspirations. The SAKLC Foundation is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians by sponsoring a variety of enriching educational initiatives designed to ignite creativity and passion in young artists. Through these efforts, we aim to foster a vibrant community of skilled organists who will carry the torch of music into the future.
Together, let’s commit to fostering a brighter future for all. The SAKLC Foundation is excited to share the launch of the Legacy Fund and the Special Purpose Fund, both of which will allow us to continue making a meaningful difference.
This evening, we invite you to experience the profound impact of the Special Purpose Fund through the incredible talent of a young artist, Gavin Klein. His performance is a reminder of the hope and creativity that arise from our support for one another.
Gavin Klein is a native of rural Massachusetts and a skilled organist and harpsichordist currently studying at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, where he is an organ scholar under Dr. Ezequiel Menéndez. His passion for organ and sacred music was nurtured as a chorister at All Saints Episcopal Church, known for its rich Anglican musical tradition.
Gavin has served as an organist for various congregations in New England, including St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church in Boston and Rollstone Congregational Church. He is currently the organist at St. Bernard’s Parish and plays for the Trappist Monks at St. Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, MA. In 2020, he became the Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at the Harvard Historical Society, where he helped preserve a historic organ. … more about the organist
