Come Dance With Us Monday Evenings
Looking for a fun way to get moving, meet some new people, and enjoy a relaxed evening out?
Starting
Monday, September 21 at 6:00 PM
Participation: $10 per class
Seniors: $5 per class
St. Armands Key Lutheran Church will offer a new weekly line dance class called Boots, Beats & Blessings.
The class is open to everyone — church members, friends, neighbors, and people from the community. We especially wanted to offer something in the evening for those who work during the day and may not be able to join many of our daytime activities.
But this is about more than learning a few dance steps. We hope it will become a fun weekly gathering where people can enjoy music, laugh a little, get some exercise, and simply spend time together.
Never Tried Line Dancing? Even Better.
This is an Absolute Beginner class, so you do not need any previous dance experience.
Our instructor, Jeff French, is a very experienced line dance instructor and choreographer. Jeff will start with the basics and take everyone through the steps before moving into easy beginner dances.
So if you have two left feet, bring them along. You will be in good company.
And don’t worry — you don’t have to attend every week. If you miss a class, just come back the next time and catch up. There is no pressure to make a weekly commitment.
Of course, once you discover how much fun line dancing can be, you may find yourself trying very hard not to miss a Monday!
Dancing Is Good for You, Too
Line dancing is a surprisingly good workout and can be enjoyed by people of many ages and fitness levels.
It helps with balance, coordination, flexibility, stamina, and overall fitness. Remembering the steps and dance patterns also gives your brain a little workout at the same time.
And maybe the best part is the social side of it. You do not need a partner, and you do not need to worry about being a great dancer. Everyone is learning together, which usually means there will be plenty of smiles and probably a few wrong turns along the way.
That is part of the fun.
Just Come and Give It a Try
Wear something comfortable and shoes or sneakers that are easy to move in. Shoes that grip or stick strongly to the tile floor are best avoided, since you will want to be able to turn and move comfortably.
Whether you have always wanted to try line dancing or are simply looking for something different to do on a Monday evening, we would love to have you join us.
Boots, Beats & Blessings begins:
