Community Service Ministry is holding an in-kind drive of school supplies for the month of July. The donated school supplies will go to one of our local schools (Alta Vista Elementary) where two of our members are teachers. Below is a description of the school & a list of the needed supplies. If you are out of town for the summer, please feel free to mail it to the Church!
Alta Vista Elementary is a Title I school that provides additional resources to economically disadvantaged students. These resources provide additional teachers, professional development, parent involvement activities, and other activities designed to raise student achievement. However, most of the students lack the resources needed to purchase school supplies. If you are able to donate some school supplies, it would be greatly appreciated! Ingrid Messina and Amy Blyth (SAKLC congregants) work with these children at Alta Vista, and this school is near and dear to their hearts.
