Everyone is invited to join us in a series of initiatives to keep you fully engaged in the life of our church – whether up north, on a trip, or in the comfort of your current home. Here are just some of the activities to look for this summer (June through August):
1. Setting New Records – for Engagement!
- Worship: New research shows that we have 50 to 75 viewers of our worship services.
Can we set a new goal of 100 viewers sometime this summer? - Web Site: Recent data shows 1,713 visitors to the web site in March. Can we set a new goal of 2,000 visitors during a summer month?

2. Summer Post Cards! We encourage “everyone” to send us at least one post card this summer. Show us where/how you worship; a special activity or location. Just keep in touch with some happy news.
3. “Three Minutes with Pastor!” We want to repeat the very popular messages from Pastor during COVID. The topics are totally up to Pastor. But we’ll be sending these to you and posting on Facebook.
4. Summer Bible Study: Pastor’s weekly Bible Study will continue, with encouragement for you to join in the discussion. We hope to create conversations led by Pastor on the scriptures of the week.
5. Summer Music Festival! Michael Bodnyk is creating a music festival for July, created to please local attendance in person and live participation via livestream. Watch for the announcements of who, what, and when!
6. Community Service- All Faith Food Bank: Summer doesn’t stop us from giving and helping. The Community Service Ministry Committee has committed 10 – 22 volunteers to join us at the All-Faith Food Bank (8171 Blaike Court, Sarasota) from 8:30 to 11:30 on June 12th to sort and organize food donations. Can we count on you?
7. “Training To-Go Tutorials!” The Technology Task Force’s work continues. A self-paced set of tutorials will be made available in print and online to assist all members to better engage with our social media programming. The Self-Learning Tutorials will include:
- Using QR Codes
- Accessing Online Worship Services
- Accessing Video Archives
- Using Zoom for Beginners

8. “Let’s Have a Conversation! The members of the Alternative Worship Task Force are bringing a lot of energy and ideas into determining additional ways to worship beyond the current 9:00 and 11:00 services. They are planning for a series of small group conversations over the summer to identify new ideas, new ways to expand our worship experience. This is your chance to literally help create our worship future at SAKLC! Stay tuned for more information!
