We had a wonderful time of Christian fellowship on Saturday, January 31st, packing over 1,000 Lutheran World Relief Kits. Thank you to all the volunteers who put their faith in God into action. As Pastor Blyth so eloquently said; ‘this is what ministry looks like!’
Soap, towels, toothbrushes, and combs. These simple gifts can significantly improve the standard of living for people around the world.
Although we cannot control when disasters happen or eliminate poverty overnight, there are actions we can take now to help people around the world reach their full potential. Providing these basic necessities can transform lives, and we were happy to contribute to this effort.
Cleanliness may not be synonymous with godliness, but it certainly helps a person feel more human. When families have their homes destroyed or are forced to flee for their safety, items like soap and a towel are often not practical for them to carry. Upon arriving at a refugee camp or another safe place, they find themselves scared, vulnerable, and dirty from their journey. The simple items included in a Personal Care Kit offer essential self-care, important germ-fighting supplies, and the opportunity for our neighbors in need to regain their dignity amid fear and uncertainty.
